New VoP publications out this autumn

The Varieties of Peace Research Network is proud to announce the recent publication of no less than four new contributions to the field, including two journal articles and two books.

First, Research Network founder Malin Åkebo's article "Ceasefire Rationales: A Comparative Study of Ceasefires in the Moro and Communist Conflicts in the Philippines" has been published in International Peacekeeping. Åkebo's book from 2016 "Ceasefire Agreements and Peace Processes: A Comparative Study" has likewise been released in paperback, hardback and e-book formats thanks to Routledge. In it, the author analyses and compares ceasefire agreements as part of peace processes in intrastate armed conflicts.

Also through Routledge, Research Network founder Johanna Söderström has seen her 2014 book "Peacebuilding and Ex-Combatants: Political Reintegration in Liberia" come out in paperback, hardback and e-book formats. The book analyses how ex-combatants in post-war and peacebuilding settings engage in politics, using Liberia as case study.

Finally, Research Network member Sara Hellmüller has made it to the Swiss Political Science Review journal with her article "Meaning-Making in Peace-Making: The Inclusion Norm at the Interplay between the United Nations and Civil Society in the Syrian Peace Process", where she explores how the United Nations and Syrian civil society actors defined the norm of civil society inclusion in the framework of the Syrian peace process.

The Varieties of Peace Research Network team wants to congratulate its three members for these achievements. Thank you for contributing to the field of varieties of peace!
